Andermatt Canada is happy to announce the registration of Spodovir® and Loopovir® in Paraguay. In conjunction with Andermatt Biocontrol AG and their distribution partner, Caltech, Spodovir will be offered to control the fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda, and Loopovir will be offered to control the soybean looper, Chrysodeixis includens. Spodovir is based upon a Spodoptera frugiperda nucleopolyhedrovirus while Loopovir is based upon a Chrysodeixis includens nucleopolyhedrovirus. Both products will provide aid to growers of row crops to combat these two important economic pests. These products will also be an effective tool for IPM and organic crop management. Spodovir and Loopovir will enable growers to protect their crops against these harmful pests without toxic environmental effects while also providing safety to employees and consumers.
As our presence grows in Latin America, it is important for Andermatt Canada to understand the accelerating biocontrol market in Latin America. The Biocontrol LATAM event being held August 18-20th will provide Andermatt Canada an opportunity to engage with industry and regulatory specialists to gain knowledge on the growing popularity of Biocontrol in Latin America. Our sister company’s CEO, Markus Ritter of Andermatt do Brasil, will be presenting on the adoption of biocontrol in Brasil. Andermatt do Brasil currently offers Andermatt Canada’s Spodovir and Loopovir products to growers in Brasil. Growing our knowledge and understanding of the Latin American biocontrol industry and regulatory system will enable Andermatt Canada to provide and supply this important agricultural market with safe and efficacious products.
