How to use
to turn on:
push and hold on button 3 seconds
to vaporize:
click the ON button once more. vapour icon will turn orange when it begins to heat crucible.
once vaporization is complete the red light will come on and blue light will light up to notify that the crucible is cooling.
Outside daytime temperatures should be a minimum of 37°F / 3°C but ideally between 40°F / 5°C - 50°F / 10°C

Charge the Battery
Ensure the Varrox EDDY battery is fully charged by connecting it to the charger. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours and provides enough power to treat up to 15 colonies. The LED display indicates the remaining battery life. -
Power On the Device
Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the LED light turns green, indicating the device is ready for treatment. -
Prepare the Oxalic Acid
Measure the required amount of oxalic acid dihydrate crystals and place them into the removable crucible. Insert the crucible into the delivery arm of the Varrox EDDY. -
Position the Device in the Hive
Insert the Varrox EDDY through the hive's entrance to the required depth as indicated on the delivery arm. -
Seal the Hive
To maximize treatment effectiveness, seal the entrance with a cloth and ensure all other openings, including mesh floors and the roof, are closed. -
Start the Treatment
Press the power button to begin the vaporization process. The treatment lasts approximately 1 minute. -
Remove the Device
After treatment, remove the Varrox EDDY from the hive. Keep the entrance sealed for an additional 10 minutes to ensure full efficacy. -
Cool the Crucible
After removal, drop the removable crucible into a bucket of water to cool it before using the device for the next hive.
